Fox News settles lawsuit with Gretchen Carlson and two other women
Vanity Fair reported that Fox News has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with former host Gretchen Carlson and two other women.
The network settled with Carlson for $20 million, while the amount settled with the two other women was not disclosed.
Carlson filed the lawsuit this year, soon after she departed Fox News. Carlson and several women alleged that Ailes promised to give them a promotion if they had sex with him.
It must be noted that Carlson and the other women all filed their lawsuits separately. Ailes denies the claims. Carlson came under fire by her former colleagues Greta Van Susteren, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity.
But their negative criticisms of Carlson were soon muted after Megyn Kelly, host of “The Kelly File,” accused Ailes of making sexual advances towards her.
Ailes, who stepped down as CEO at the end of July, is suing New York Magazine and reporter Gabriel Sherman.
Sherman wrote the article about Kelly alleging that Ailes had sexually harassed her.
